Vacation Roles
As part of our commitment to the development of young mining professionals, KCGM offers student vacation work between November and February each year.
Applications are invited at this time from students who are studying the following disciplines:

* Environmental Science * Metallurgy * Surveying * Engineering (including Mechanical, Electrical and Mining) * Geology * Commerce

As part of their application applicants should provide a copy of their resume summarising their employment and educational background, as well as their educational transcript.

Successful candidates are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements whilst undertaking vacation work and residing in Kalgoorlie.

Successful candidates are provided with return travel costs (if applicable) after eight weeks of continuous employment.

We are currently looking for talented and motivated students who are interested in gaining mining work experience over the 2010/2011 summer vacation period. We have placements available in the following disciplines:

* Mining Engineering * Mechanical Engineering

Macmahon Vacation Student Program – Mining

Within our Underground and Surface mining business units we operate across a variety of mining commodities and locations for our well established clients. During your placement you will receive hands on experience enabling you to develop new skills, liaise with industry leaders and better prepare yourself for a future graduate placement.

Eligibility

To be considered for these opportunities you will need to be in the 2nd, 3rd or final year of your degree studying Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. You will be safety focussed, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a dedicated academic record. A willingness to work in remote areas on a Fly-In-Fly-Out roster basis is essential as we have placements available in various locations across Australia. Vacation Student placements will run for 12 weeks and will commence on Monday 29th November 2010.
